Job summary

Wesco seeks a Supervisor - Operations to oversee inbound and outbound warehouse functions, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and related processes. You will coach associates, manage performance, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Reporting to a Manager, you will develop procedures, monitor metrics, and drive improvements while maintaining teamwork and customer focus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent is required.
• Fork Lift Certification preferred.
• 3 years warehouse and distribution operations experience.
• 1 year experience leading warehouse associates.
• Ability to operate a forklift or obtain certification.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control processes.
• Knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to learn and use business planning systems.
• Resolve problems in a timely manner under stressful situations.
• Team environment adaptability.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
• Ability to anticipate and prepare for customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate employee work assignments to meet inbound/outbound service requirements.
• Direct achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety.
• Monitor workflow, completed work, error rates and related metrics; take corrective action.
• Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced.
• Confirm quality/inspection processes; eliminate excess costs.
• Maintain safe working environment and follow safety regulations.
• Maintain time, attendance, and performance records.
• Foster positive employee relations and morale.
• Suggest performance management actions.
• Help develop and document warehouse processes.
• Set and monitor performance standards for warehousing functions.
• Process returned merchandise.
• Develop training certification programs for warehouse staff.
