Job summary

McLane is seeking a Distribution Supervisor to lead a warehouse team, ensuring staffing, training, safety, and efficient order fulfillment to meet customer demands. You will establish schedules, coach staff, and ensure compliance with DC procedures to drive performance.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma (bachelor’s preferred), has 2 years of distribution experience, and demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and computer skills (Word/Excel).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2 years distribution/warehouse experience
• Experience leading large numbers of warehouse staff
• Ability to hire, train, motivate, and resolve employee relations issues
• Proficient computer skills including Word and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead by example and respond to teammates effectively
• English reading/writing proficiency for safety and instruction

Responsibilities

• Direct and motivate teammates.
• Communicate company and division information to teammates.
• Listen, address and follow-up to teammate concerns.
• Facilitate communication within the warehouse leadership team.
• Meet productivity, order quality, safety, and cost targets.
• Supervise and manage daily work of department teammates.
• Create and maintain schedules and job assignments.
• Maintain departmental paperwork and provide training as needed.
• Provide coaching and corrective action as needed.
• Enforce DC policies and safety procedures.
• Be a visible advocate for safety.
• Relieve other supervisors during vacations.
• Maintain flexible work schedules including early/late shifts and weekends.
• Operate required equipment within 30 days of hire.
