Job summary

McLane is seeking a Distribution Supervisor to lead a warehouse team, ensure safe and efficient operations, and maintain productivity and quality standards. You will manage staffing, training, scheduling, and daily performance metrics while upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifying candidates have warehouse leadership experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Word/Excel; bilingual or additional languages are not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Have 2 years distribution warehouse experience, preferably in the grocery industry.
• Have experience leading large numbers of warehouse staff with experience in hiring, training, motivating and resolving employee relations issues.
• Have computer knowledge to include experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead by example.
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Be willing to listen and respond to teammates.
• Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and teammates.
• Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.

Responsibilities

• Direct and motivate teammates.
• Communicate company and division information to teammates.
• Listen, address and follow-up to teammate concerns, questions and problems.
• Facilitate communication within the warehouse leadership team and between division/warehouse leadership and teammates.
• Promote standard procedures to meet productivity, quality, safety, sanitation, and cost goals.
• Supervise and manage daily work of department teammates.
• Create and maintain schedules and job assignments.
• Maintain all departmental paperwork.
• Provide training to maintain an efficient workforce.
• Provide coaching and corrective action as needed.
• Ensure adherence to DC policies and safety procedures.
