Job summary

Indianapolis Public Schools is seeking a Head Volleyball Coach to develop a successful high school program with emphasis on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character. The role includes season planning, academic monitoring, and program management throughout the year.

The coach will build relationships with feeder schools and promote the program through the community and social media, reporting to the Athletics Director and Principal for performance evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education is preferred.
• Three years of high school coaching experience with head coaching preferred.
• Familiarity with IHSAA and NFHS rules.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to motivate, teach and recruit student-athletes.
• High standards of professional ethics and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Follow IPS and IHSAA volleyball rules and guidelines.
• Instruct and demonstrate skills for individual and team development.
• Plan, organize, advertise and run tryouts and communicate selections.
• Develop training programs and practice schedules.
• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and promote community engagement.
• Build relationships with feeder schools to grow participation.
• Create a safe, positive learning environment for athletes.
• Travel with team to contests and manage records and paperwork.
