Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Lead VistA/MUMPS Developer for a 100% remote position on a large federal healthcare modernization project. You will provide technical leadership to replace SSN usage with enterprise identifiers while protecting PII in critical VistA applications and processes.

The role involves working with a multidisciplinary Agile team, government stakeholders, and several VistA packages, including ADT, PCE, AICS, and more. The candidate must reside in the continental US.

Qualifications

15+ years of professional VistA/MUMPS development experience
Experience in healthcare IT environments and VA/VistA packages is highly desirable
Strong experience with secure data handling and privacy requirements

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for VistA/MUMPS development, providing direction, standards, reviews, mentoring, and knowledge transfer.
Lead analysis of VistA applications to identify SSN usage and develop approaches to eliminate SSNs while preserving functionality.
Design, modify, and enhance VistA/MUMPS applications and related workflows with secure, VA-compliant code.
Lead testing, deployment, production readiness, and root-cause analysis across the lifecycle.
Collaborate with product owners, BAs, QA, and government stakeholders in an Agile environment.
Support multiple VistA packages (ADT, PCE, AICS, Record Tracking, VistA Audit Solutions).
