Cox Automotive is seeking an Auction Support Specialist to guide and support virtual auction teams. You will train staff, coordinate across multiple lanes and auctions nationwide, and work with auctioneers to ensure accurate system data and run orders.

Strong leadership and communication are essential for success. Responsibilities include delivering training, troubleshooting with IT, and maintaining strong relationships with leadership and staff while upholding Cox Automotive values and safety

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED and 7 years’ experience in a related field OR alternative combination of degree/certification with 5+ years in a related field OR 9 years experience in a related field
• Ability to lead a team and provide guidance/training to less experienced associates
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills are essential.
• Ability to remain focused during fast-paced sale-day activities
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the AS400 system to record lane and Simulcast bid amounts, enter customer data, process all sold units, and verify/enter lights.
• Support multiple lanes with multiple auctions across the country
• Work with auctioneer virtually to verify system information accurately represents vehicle and run order
• Operate monitor virtually and review Simulcast bids with auctioneer
• Provide arbitration and other vehicle announcements to support the auctioneer
• Establish and maintain relationships with auction leadership and virtual block specialist team members
• Monitor lane performance and troubleshoot issues with location IT Technicians
• Provide training to assigned VBS team members
• Participate in virtual block specialist activities and regular scheduling
• Collaborate with leadership to identify issues, solve problems, and measure client experience

Job description

This position is a producing Auction Support Specialist that provides direction, training, leadership and technical expertise to all other Auction Support Specialists.

Qualifications

• Utilize the AS400 system to record lane and Simulcast bid amounts, enter customer data, process all sold units, and verify/enter lights.
• Support multiple lanes with multiple auctions across the country
• Work with auctioneer virtually to verify system information accurately represents vehicle. Verify vehicle run order to ensure appropriate vehicle is being keyed and sold.
• Operate monitor virtually, work with auctioneer to review Simulcast bids.
• Provide arbitration and other vehicle announcements to support auctioneer.
• Establish and maintain close working relationships and rapport with auction leadership and virtual block specialist team members.
• Monitor lane performance and troubleshoot issues with location IT Technicians
• Provide training to assigned VBS team members
• Virtual block specialist activities to fill in and also as part of regular schedule.
• Collaborate with VBS leadership and virtual block specialist team members to identify issues, solve problems, improve and measure client experience.
• Effectively sets an example in behavior, championing Cox Automotive values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.

Minimum-

• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years’ experience in a related field.
• OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 5 years’ experience;
• OR 9 years' experience in a related field
• Ability to serve as a team lead and be assigned to provide general guidance/ direction, training, and technical assistance to less experienced associates
• Great problem-solving and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to remain focused and composed during fast-paced sale-day activities.
• Ability to foster productive and professional internal and external business relationships.
• Strong communication and interaction skills required.
• Effective time management, client service, and organizational skills required.

Preferred-

• 3 or more years of auction block experience preferred
• Proficient computer and software skills essential. AS400 experience preferred.

USD 20.10 - 30.10 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $20.10 - $30.10/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits

• Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
• Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
