Job summary

The Texas A&M University System Offices seeks an Associate Director, Research Animal Welfare to serve as Attending Veterinarian for system members, providing veterinary oversight and strategic leadership for animal care and compliance.

Under the Director, you will support IACUC activities, institutional programs, and standards implementation across member institutions, ensuring compliant, high-quality animal care and welfare.

Qualifications

• D.V.M. or equivalent from AVMA-accredited college.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in laboratory animal medicine or research animal program oversight, IACUC administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Attending Veterinarian for assigned System members and provide veterinary oversight for animal care and use programs.
• Assist with IACUC meetings, protocol reviews, and investigations as required.
• Develop and review SOPs, guidelines, and institutional policies related to animal care and use.
• Collaborate with Directors and institutional personnel to implement System standards and program assessments.

Education

Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) from AVMA-accredited college
