Job summary

Metropolitan Veterinary Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician for a full-time role focused on comprehensive patient care and leadership within the medical team.

Responsibilities include administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and mentoring staff, while educating pet owners and maintaining high standards of care. Four ten-hour shifts with a signing bonus and a supportive learning environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
• Current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
• Proficiency in nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
• Calm, efficient approach in fast-paced or stressful situations.
• Strong communication skills and passion for collaborative work.
• One year of veterinary industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize your full skillset in providing comprehensive patient care, including administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and performing laboratory work.
• Lead and mentor the medical team, ensuring efficient workflow and supporting others' professional growth.
• Act as the primary point of contact for pet owners, educating them on treatments, reviewing medical records, and answering questions.
• Contribute to a positive culture through active participation in training, feedback, and upholding high standards.
