Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a Nursing Manager to lead a passionate veterinary nursing team in a dynamic emergency setting. You will foster a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and patient-centered care, guiding staff through complex emergencies and continuous improvement.

You will shape leadership practices, mentor VEGgies, and ensure high-quality care while supporting your team’s growth and career development in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVMT credential required in the VEG practice state.
• 5+ years in clinical veterinary nursing; 2+ years in leadership.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Willing to work in a noisy environment with strong odors.
• Night, weekend, and holidays availability on rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day flow for the nursing team and provide tools/support to shine.
• Oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding and offboarding.
• Address patient care issues and team dynamics with empathy and clarity.
• Partner with hospital leadership to align on goals and flow.
• Use doctor feedback to guide team development and maintain medical excellence.
• Lead with VEG values—openness, togetherness, heroic helping.
• Champion in-house training, mentorship and development pathways.
• Ensure licensure, performance standards and education programs are upheld.
• Drive 1:1s, check-ins, and student mentorship for growth.
