Job summary

Priority One Services, Inc. is seeking a Veterinary Technician III in Bethesda, MD, under the supervision of senior veterinary staff. The role focuses on daily rounds, health exams, animal care, and coordination of facility service requests for researchers.

The candidate will assist in the animal surveillance program, administer treatments, monitor intensive care with specialized equipment, and maintain accurate records to support AAALAC accreditation and safe operations within the NIH facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; AA in Veterinary Technology or LAT certification preferred.
• Experience with animals in biomedical research or companion animal practice.
• LATG certification eligible to be pursued.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds and preliminary health exams on sick animals.
• Assist with surveillance programs and coordinating service requests.
• Administer drugs and document in logs and records.
• Monitor vital signs with access to ICU equipment and telemetry.
• Maintain accurate records, logbooks, and clinical files.
• Coordinate schedules between researchers and staff; assist with planning.
• Provide training and cross-training to maximize service delivery.
• Ensure AAALAC accreditation compliance and safety requirements.
