Job description

As Lead Verification Engineer(Land Domain), you will shape how we bring the next generation of autonomous ground systems from robotics research into the hands of our customers. You will define the strategy and plan for the verification and validation of our autonomous systems – from unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to autonomous trucks – and guide the execution of all V&V activities, includingdown-to-earth testing on the road ortesting in HIL or simulation environments. Your work will directly influence product release decisions by providing the structured evidence needed to prove our systems operate safely, reliably and at scale across complex environments.

What is your Day to Day Mission:
  • Strategic Test Leadership: Drive and advance our testing methodologies for complex autonomy projects, ensuring we stay at the forefront of industry standards.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Systems Engineering, Development and Product teams to deeply understand program scope, system architecture and operational design domains (ODD).

  • Test Strategy Development: Derive and implement tailored test strategies for each project, addressing the unique challenges of a modern autonomy stack based on multi-modal perception and machine learning.

  • Test Execution: When needed, support data collection and test execution. This can include vehicle operation, structured test setup configuration, triggering data recordings and documenting results and issues.

  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify gaps in existing test strategies. Ensure validation and verification (V&V) activities meet internal project expectations and stringent legal/regulatory requirements.

  • Executive Reporting: Evaluate and compile comprehensive test reports. You will provide the structured evidence required by leadership to make informed product release decisions.

What you bring to the team:
  • Autonomy Expertise: A solid understanding of modern autonomy stacks, with specific knowledge of multi-modal perception pipelines and integrated Machine Learning components.

  • Machine Learning: A good grasp of Machine Learning approaches and their impact on system behavior and verifiability.

  • Systems Validation: Solid understanding of the pros, cons, and applications of SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and component-level testing.

  • Testing Paradigms: Proven experience in structured testing methodologies and large-scale re-simulation.

  • Simulation Frameworks: Basic familiarity with simulation frameworks, including an understanding of their technical limitations and "sim-to-real" fidelity gaps.

  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Ability to interface effectively with systems, software, and hardware engineers to design valid test strategies and efficiently evaluate test output data.
