Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineering Manager to build the Vehicle Software SRE team from the ground up, define its charter, hire the founding engineers, and set the operating model and technical strategy for reliability.

You’ll remain hands‑on, contribute code, review critical designs, lead incident investigations, and drive architecture, automation, and observability to keep fleet‑critical software safe and scalable.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production software systems with SRE/production engineering focus.
• 3+ years in people leadership, hiring and coaching engineers, hands-on coding and reviews.
• Experience with SLOs, error budgets, production readiness and incident postmortems.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new SRE team from the ground up, hands-on as a player-coach.
• Own reliability strategy for vehicle software across deployment, telemetry, and diagnostics; set production readiness standards.
• Define SLIs/SLOs and failure budgets; drive release criteria, gates, and fault-injection practices.
