Job summary

The Boeing Company in Berkeley, MO is seeking a Lead-Architect Vehicle Management Systems Hardware Engineer for the Air Dominance Vehicle Management System. You will work onsite with cross-functional teams to design, test and mature the hardware and architecture of the VMS computer.

You will mentor engineering teams, drive architectural decisions, ensure traceability, and maintain compliance with DO-178C/DO-254 and related aerospace standards as part of a high-impact program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level engineering or related field required; advanced degrees add value.
• Experience leading complex vehicle management or avionics systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of aerospace standards and safety processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop architecture of the Vehicle Management System with scalability and integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and oversee hardware/software components.
• Lead technical reviews and guide maintenance of the vehicle management system to safety standards.
• Apply job practices, techniques, standards and principles to programs.
• Develop statement-of-work and technical performance specifications.
• Translate customer requirements into system and interface specifications with traceability.
• Define test and validation approaches to meet operational needs.
• Investigate emerging technologies for future product concepts.
• Drive evaluation of technologies to enhance performance and cybersecurity.
• Mentor teams on architectural best practices and ensure documentation quality.
