Job summary

Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Supervisor of Utility Systems Operators (USO) at the Lee County VA Healthcare Center in Cape Coral, FL. The role oversees all USO activities, schedules, and contract coordination within the Facility Management Service to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient utility services for patient areas.

Responsibilities

Technically and administratively responsible for control of all work and activity related to the USO section and must account to his/her superior for the quality, quantity, and timeliness of work performed by the Section.
Assigns USO employees based on priorities, capabilities, and assignment requirements; establishes 24/7 schedules for routine activities.
Reviews work to assure quality and efficiency; provides technical and administrative guidance to subordinates.
Identifies development and training needs; sets performance standards for all employees.
Oversees contract service personnel on site, directs work, coordinates, and reviews performance.
Develops specifications for yearly and one-time service contracts; assists contractors in locating components; handles repairs for service calls.
Ensures adequate spare parts inventory and maintains safe, efficient utility services across patient care areas and the medical center.
