Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking an experienced Utility-Scale Trenching Foreman to lead field crews on power, renewable energy, transmission, and substation projects nationwide. The role demands planning, coordinating, and executing trenching operations safely while delivering quality workmanship and developing crew members.

Responsibilities include production planning, coordinating equipment and crews, reading project drawings, and upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of utility-scale trenching or related experience.
• Minimum 2 years as a Trenching Foreman leading field crews.
• Ability to read and interpret project drawings, layouts, and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, safety mindset, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily trenching and underground conduit installation activities for utility-scale projects.
• Plan daily work, coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and production activities.
• Read and interpret drawings, trench profiles, layouts, and construction docs.
• Ensure work safety, quality, and conformance to project specs.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members while tracking progress.
