Job summary

DTE Energy in Detroit is hiring for a position responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all energy-related assets within a central utility complex at the Stellantis Detroit Assembly Complex Mack. The role involves supervising cooling systems, air handling, and water treatment, with a unionized workforce under I.U.O.E Local 324.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a Detroit First Class Refrigeration License, and 5+ years of utility operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Detroit First Class Refrigeration License required.
• At least 5 years of experience in utility complex operations and maintenance.
• Shift work is required with operation and routine maintenance.
• Able to perform data entry, manage email and use tablets and PCs.
• Familiarity with control networks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate central utility complex equipment to meet daily energy demands.
• Perform preventive and minor corrective maintenance on utility assets.
• Record operating data and maintain CMMS documentation.
• Notify USM of unusual or unsafe conditions and mitigate risks.
• Assist contractors with tasks beyond basic capabilities when needed.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures.
