Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a Foreman to supervise skilled trades in a high‑stakes shipyard environment. You will lead crews, enforce drawings and procedures, and drive safe, efficient maintenance of critical systems on complex naval assets.

Qualifications

• Must have technical knowledge and leadership abilities.
• Experience supervising trades personnel and training staff.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates trades personnel by skill and knowledge.
• Trains employees to improve quality and productivity; helps develop procedures.
• Ensures compliance with drawings, procedures, and specifications; manages safety and operations.

Education

Bachelor's Degree OR Apprentice Certification OR High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience
