Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Foreman to supervise and coordinate skilled trades on site in Newport News, VA. You will lead teams, enforce drawings and procedures, and ensure safe, efficient production on crucial naval shipbuilding programs.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for new foreman hires. Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent trade certification, with relevant manufacturing or shipbuilding experience; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree OR Apprentice Certification OR High School with 4 years manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience
Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience

Responsibilities

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed; recommends training to enhance skill and productivity.
Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans; ensures compliance with drawings and procedures.
