Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer to design and manage municipal public works projects in Punta Gorda, FL.

Responsibilities include design and development of utility projects, coordinating permit applications, assisting in bid documents, and supervising Project Managers. Qualifications: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 3 years of municipal project experience, and Florida PE license or ability to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of city and department policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles including hydrology, hydraulics, water distribution, land development, and erosion control.
• Knowledge of GIS principles and practices.
• Knowledge of roadway and subdivision design and construction.
• Knowledge of land development regulations and applicable laws.
• Knowledge of surveying principles and tools.
• Knowledge of accounting practices and project cost estimation.
• Skills in contract administration and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of utility projects.
• Supervise Engineering Technicians and Project Managers within the Division.
• Assist in supervising projects in construction and coordinate with developers, engineers and contractors.
• Assist in preparing bid documents and permit applications.
• Attend public hearings and meetings.
• Update GIS for the Utility Department.
