Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Lead Unified Communications Engineer to support a federal customer in Maryland. This on-site role requires TS/SCI clearance and hands-on engineering, sustaining, and improving voice and collaboration capabilities for daily mission execution.

The ideal candidate expertly administers communications platforms, troubleshoots complex issues, and guides design decisions in a secure environment, aligning with program requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting unified communications, VoIP, telephony, or collaboration environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and customer-support skills.
• Familiarity with endpoint integration, platform administration, and service support processes.
• Understanding of network and QoS concepts related to voice and collaboration services.
• Ability to work onsite in a secure environment; TS/SCI clearance required/maintained.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support voice, telephony, conferencing, or collaboration platforms.
• Troubleshoot service issues involving call quality, endpoints, connectivity, or platform configuration.
• Support implementation, upgrades, and integration of communications solutions.
• Maintain documentation, diagrams, operating procedures, and support records.
• Coordinate with network, systems, and field teams on platform dependencies and changes.
• Support user issues, service requests, and operational continuity activities.
• Contribute to testing, validation, and service improvement efforts.
• Help ensure secure, stable, and supportable communications capabilities.
• Provide reports to relevant stakeholders and participate in leadership level design and engineering decisions.
