Job summary

Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State seeks an Undersea System Analyst to lead small teams, synthesize insights from engineers and Navy personnel, and shape analytical directions for complex undersea systems. You will contribute to modeling and simulation efforts, evaluate technologies, and communicate results effectively to stakeholders across the DoD and IC.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computing languages or frameworks for scientific/engineering analysis such as C++, MATLAB, Simulink, R, or Python.
  • Ability to handle ill-defined problems and derive concrete findings.
  • Experience absorbing broad information from scientific/mathematical domains.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams of engineers (2–4) or larger teams (3–10) for project delivery.
  • Aggregate SME insights from Navy, engineers, scientists, and mathematicians.
  • Shape direction of analysis and deliver actionable findings to DoD/IC sponsors.
  • Perform concept assessments using modeling and simulation of undersea systems.
  • Communicate results clearly to stakeholders and sponsors.
