Penn State University’s Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) seeks highly motivated Systems Engineers to support in-water and land-based verification across a program’s life cycle. You will coordinate with ARL Program Management, subsystem leads, and sponsors, while serving as on-site Test Director for field events.

The role supports testing from conceptual design to validation, integration, and field testing of prototype systems, with ARL as a DoD SkillBridge partner welcoming transitioning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science required.
• 14+ years of relevant experience for senior level.
• Security clearance eligibility may be required.
• Experience with DoD or government testing is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Plan, design, and execute system-level land-based and in-water testing across development phases.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and verification matrices.
• Conduct functional, performance, environmental, and integration testing.
• Analyze test data and support root-cause investigations.
• Prepare technical reports and SITREPs.
• Coordinate test logistics and staffing.
• Lead Test Readiness Reviews and post-test debriefs.
• On-site Test Director for field events and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage test-related risks and contingencies.
• Participate in test-related working groups.
• For higher levels, lead development and fielding of test equipment and support systems.
• Oversee program-level resource planning and deconfliction.
• Develop program-level Requirements Verification Matrices.
• Identify test strategies for emerging capabilities.
• Support system-of-systems T&E and gaps identification.
