Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, located in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, is seeking an Underground Transmission Line Engineer to design underground transmission lines up to 500kV. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you the flexibility to work remotely for two days a week.

Qualifications

• 7 or more years of experience in underground transmission projects.
• Experience with XLPE cable design.
• Capability in cost estimate development and schedule creation.

Responsibilities

• Design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV.
• Responsible for cable selection studies and ampacity calculations.
• Work with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components.

Skills

Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling

Bilingual in Spanish and English

Attention to detail

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Familiarity with design codes and standards

Education

BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program

Tools

MS Office applications
