Job summary

Qualus in Del Mar, CA seeks a Senior Engineer of Underground Electric Transmission to implement best design practices, coordinate project workflows, and support business development while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

The role provides technical guidance to the underground distribution design team, ensures QA/QC, and helps manage scopes, budgets and schedules in a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Strong understanding of electric design principles applicable to transmission.
• 5–10+ years in electric transmission and distribution engineering for public utilities.
• Familiar with design software and industry standards.
• Ability to interpret construction documents for distribution designs.
• Valid driver’s license and PE license or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide QA/QC execution and tracking for projects.
• Develop methods and adhere to client and industry standards.
• Maintain knowledge of codes and regulations.
• Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Support proposal writing and invoicing approvals.
• Assist in project execution and process improvement.
