Job summary

KoBold Metals seeks a Senior Underground Mine Engineer to lead the Mingomba project design, feasibility studies, and engineering programs. You will guide mine design strategies, coordinate with operations, and support physics-based and data-driven hydrogeology modeling to reduce uncertainties.

You will collaborate with geologists, data scientists, and engineers to advance the project, mentor junior staff, and ensure safe, economical, and timely project delivery across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 7+ years post-qualification experience in underground mine planning, design and scheduling.
• EIZ certification preferred.
• Experience with multiple mining consultants.
• Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
• Proficiency with mine planning/design software packages listed in the job spec.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and communicate with engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic mine design and engineering analyses using Deswik.
• Detailed design of Mingomba underground mine.
• Cost estimation and economic analysis of alternatives.
• Prepare technical documents for Mineral Resources and Reserves.
• Provide feedback to geological and geotechnical modeling.
• Mentor staff and ensure QA/QC throughout projects.
• Coordinate with operations, regulators, and partners to maximize safety and value.
