Job summary

Rio Tinto’s Resolution Copper project in Arizona seeks a Health Senior Advisor to partner with operations, manage health risks underground, and drive exposure monitoring, surveillance, and improvement plans. This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in the field, build leadership through coaching, and influence health programs across site operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, industrial hygiene, health sciences, or related field.
• Experience in occupational health or industrial hygiene, ideally in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of health hazards, control strategies, and health program management.
• Ability to communicate clearly and influence leaders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Put health and safety of people first in all decisions, programs, and field activities.
• Lead and support site occupational health programs focusing on underground health hazards.
• Provide expert health advice to operational leaders to identify and manage risks.
• Support compliance with MSHA, OSHA and Rio Tinto standards.
• Oversee health exposure monitoring, medical surveillance, and occupational hygiene assessments.
• Investigate health incidents, near misses, and trends; recommend corrective actions.
• Partner with contractors to ensure understanding of health requirements.
• Support continuous improvement through audits, data analysis, and training.
