Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking a Health, Safety, & Security Manager for Resolution Copper near Superior, AZ. You will lead the Health, Safety, and Security Performance Plan, guiding a team and ensuring compliance and risk management across the site.

Work with leaders and stakeholders to translate strategy into action, develop training, and drive a safety-driven culture aligned with Rio Tinto’s values and Best Operator goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or a related field.
• Significant H&S experience in major projects, surface and underground.
• Inclusive leader with a coaching mindset and ability to grow others.
• Translate strategy into practical outcomes in diverse settings and solve problems.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with MSHA/OSHA and environment management system tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office for metrics and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement health, safety, and security policies in compliance with regulations.
• Design and deliver training for managers, employees, and contractors.
• Analyze accident causes and hazards; make mitigation recommendations.
• Mentor team and manage the partnership with the project security provider.
• Maintain strategic view of the work and Rio Tinto integration.
• Lead audits and inspections as required.
• Contribute to the development of health, safety, and security guidelines and standards.
• Facilitate risk assessment methods for health, safety, and security.
• Network with external organizations for program improvements.
• Maintain awareness of international best practice in the field.
