Job summary

Ohio State University Libraries seeks an Undergraduate Engagement Librarian to lead the development, delivery, and assessment of student-focused learning experiences for first- and second-year undergraduates within the Teaching & Learning Department.

The role collaborates with campus units to integrate information literacy into general education, and builds partnerships that promote student success and lifelong learning. Supervision of 1–3 staff is included.

Responsibilities

• Lead liaison to key campus units to support undergraduate learning experiences
• Maintain, oversee, and improve programs for first- and second-year students and new undergraduates
• Teach credit courses and co-curricular sessions offered by the Teaching & Learning Department
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate information literacy into general education
• Provide expertise to faculty and staff on student learning and information literacy
• Supervise 1–3 staff members within the Teaching & Learning department
• Oversee involvement in campus orientation events and library orientation experiences
• Stay current on information literacy, undergraduate education, student learning, and higher education trends
• Participate in departmental and Libraries' teaching and programming reporting
• Serve on library-wide and university-wide committees as a engaged faculty member
• Engage in professional development through associations and activities outside the Libraries
