Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum (3) three academic years working directly in a college tutoring center or writing lab as either a peer or professional tutor.
• At least one year as a lead tutor with duties that include mentoring peer staff, liaison between faculty and tutoring services, and compiling lab usage data preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the head tutor, providing direct learning assistance to students and modeling best pedagogical practices.
• Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise peer and professional tutors to ensure comprehensive subject coverage.
• Monitor tutoring sessions, gather student feedback, and implement training to maintain high-quality academic support.
• Maintain the tutoring budget.
• Collect, analyze, and report utilization data to measure program impact and maintain the budget.
• Assist with promotional materials, visit classrooms, and host orientations to increase student awareness of tutoring and testing services.
• Communicate student participation with faculty who make student referrals.
• Assist the Director of Library Services with the facilitation and administration of proctored exams.
• Assist the Director of Library Services with the maintenance of Honorlock testing rooms to provide a secure environment for ESCC students.
• Assist Students with basic library navigation and locating academic resources.
• Partner with library staff and faculty to align resources with curriculum standards.
• Assist with information literacy instruction including database navigation, keyword generation, and advanced search filters.
