Job summary

Valero Port Arthur Refinery seeks a Sr. Turnaround Planner to lead planning, estimating, and scheduling of refinery turnarounds and capital work. You will coordinate internal groups and contractors, develop resource-loaded plans, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.

This exempt, on-site role requires a high school diploma and 5 years in planning or maintenance. Proficiency in Primavera P6, SAP/Maximo, and MS Excel is preferred; on-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of planning, project coordination, and/or maintenance experience in refining or a related industry.
• Experience using computer-based planning and scheduling tools required.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, such as plot plans, piping isometrics, and P&IDs required.
• Experience conducting maintenance planning using a CMMS (e.g. SAP or Maximo) or Oracle Primavera P6 and/or MS Excel, Project, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, estimate, and schedule maintenance turnarounds, emergency events, major maintenance, catalyst change-outs, and capital work scope integration.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of supporting third-party planners and service contractors.
• Develop step-by-step resource-loaded turnaround plans for all turnaround work.
• Produce work packages with lists, scopes, schedules, drawings, procedures, and material lists to aid estimating and executing planned work.
• Determine manpower levels for supporting third-party or craft planners and oversee their work, tracking KPIs.
