Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in Conway, SC seeks a Foreperson to coordinate crews and equipment to complete vegetation management jobs to contract specifications. The role requires directing daily tasks, planning safe execution, and ensuring on-site safety and PPE usage.

Responsibilities include coordinating access with property owners, supervising tree trimming/removal, logging work and materials, and coordinating storm tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet and demonstrate qualifications of all positions on a crew.
• Must be able to follow verbal or written directives.
• Must be able to delegate work and take accountability for the performance of a crew.
• Must be able to understand drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements and taking independent action without close supervision.
• Must have and maintain a Driver’s License and be able to safely drive a company vehicle.
• Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must have endurance necessary to perform duties throughout a standard eight or ten hour day.
• Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
• Must be able to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate crew members, equipment, tools, and supplies to complete jobs as per contract specs.
• Direct daily tasks and supervise crew performance.
• Plan and execute work safely and professionally.
• Organize assignments to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Communicate with property owners to obtain access and discuss work plans.
• Ensure PPE usage and safe practices on site.
• Trim or remove trees using ladders, climbing lines, lifts, or ground-based tools.
• Apply stump and brush treatments as needed.
• Load and unload trucks and maintain debris clearance.
• Keep logs of time, equipment, and materials used; inspect trucks daily.
• Restock supplies and arrange routine maintenance; report damaged equipment.
• Make rapid decisions in emergencies to protect life and property.
• Assist with storm-related duties when required.
