Job summary

Heartwood Tree Care in Asheville, NC seeks a working crew lead to run onsite jobs, perform A level climbing and rigging, and manage crew safety, flow, and quality from start to finish.

You will lead daily job setup, conduct advanced pruning and removals, and handle complex rigging and equipment operation. CDL is required; ISA certification is preferred. This role emphasizes safety and customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Climber experience with SRT and DRT systems and spurless pruning.
• Strong rigging and removal background.
• Ability to lead a crew and make smart field decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the crew and run daily job setup.
• Perform advanced tree climbing, pruning, and removals.
• Handle complex rigging and technical removals.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, bucket trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Drive company trucks with CDL required vehicles included.
• Monitor hazards and keep the crew safe.
• Communicate with ground crew and sales about job changes or customer issues.
• Ensure job sites are cleaned up and walkthrough with customer when available.
