Job summary

SavATree is seeking aCrew Lead Tree Climber to join our General Tree Care Team in Grand Rapids. You’ll perform pruning, removals, and cabling while climbing safely with ropes, saddles, and ladders. This role advances through leadership with additional responsibilities and mentorship to teammates.

You’ll operate chainsaws and aerial lifts, follow ANSI standards, and maintain open communication with clients to ensure top-quality, safe services. Equal opportunity employer with a team-first culture.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willing to work outdoors and protect the environment.
• Experience with pruning techniques for large trees and ornamentals.
• Familiarity with tree care safety standards and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care: pruning, removals, and cabling.
• Climb trees safely using ropes, saddle, and ladders.
• Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts, and other tree care equipment.
• Apply ANSI A300 Pruning Standards and ANSI Z safety guidelines.
• Ensure proper pruning cuts and preserve tree health and structure.
• Lead and support team in safety-focused operations.
