Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Transportation Quality Assurance Inspector Supervisor for PennDOT initiatives across Pennsylvania. The role involves supervising QA inspection staff, reviewing plans and specs for compliance, and ensuring conformance to contract requirements and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of highway/structure inspection experience with supervisory exposure and the ability to act as Owner’s Agent. Field work with potential travel is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of highway and structure construction inspection experience.
• 1 year of supervisory experience.
• One year as Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor; or
• Ability to act as Owner’s Agent/Responsible in Charge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise project quality assurance inspection staff across all phases.
• Review and interpret plans, layouts, specifications, and construction methods for compliance.
• Verify conformance to standards for testing concrete, soils, and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation.
• Coordinate and supervise QA inspection activities and staff.
• Draft project correspondence, facilitate meetings, and resolve field issues.
• Maintain project records using ECMS and other systems.
• Prepare field notes, computations, and reports.
• Interact with public, government agencies, contractors, and others.
