State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is seeking a Transportation Engineer 3-Engineering in State Bridge Design at its Newington headquarters. The role provides lead services on projects to improve safety, capacity, and efficiency of the state's transportation system.

The successful candidate will design bridges, review contractor drawings, ensure contract compliance, and support field work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Three years of transportation engineering experience.
• One year of working level experience in transportation engineering capacity.
• PE licensure or EIT licensure may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead services in the development of projects to improve safety, capacity, and efficiency of the state's transportation system.
• Review contractor drawings to facilitate construction and ensure contract compliance.
• Support field work and address unforeseen conditions during construction.
• Develop and maintain bridge design standards and inventory for CTDOT State Bridge Design.
