Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Data Steward embedded in the Transportation Business Group to define how data is captured, defined, governed, and reused across projects and teams.

This leadership role coordinates SMEs and technical authorities to establish consistent data standards enabling better decisions and reusable data assets. As part of HDR's employee-owned culture, the role drives data fluency, governance, and tool alignment, collaborating with Enterprise Data teams to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in the Resources engineering or data-centric roles.
• Experience building and managing diverse teams.
• Ability to work with leaders, operations managers and technical directors.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee ownership.
• Active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Define technical standards across the Transportation BG and enterprise.
• Develop business-aligned data definitions for key terms supporting data models and AI use cases.
• Coordinate SME networks to align data practices and priorities.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of data including access, quality, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets and lifecycle considerations.
• Promote data fluency across the Transportation BG and coordinate with Technology Director.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards, practices, and tools.
• Communicate and collaborate with Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations.
