Job summary

American Electric Power in New Albany, Ohio, is seeking a Transmission Right of Way Agent Staff SG9 to manage a portfolio of land-rights projects within a matrix organization. You will lead plan development, budgeting, legal coordination, and risk-balanced execution for efficient, safe transmission infrastructure.

The role requires strong leadership, project management and extensive right-of-way knowledge, with travel up to 25% and on-site work in the New Albany area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree and eight (8) years of related experience.
• Or High School equivalent and ten (10) years of related experience.
• Experience in leadership and/or project management is a plus.
• Professional licenses and memberships encouraged

Responsibilities

• Manage right-of-way project plans, schedules, budgets, tools and staff.
• Assist regional right-of-way team to ensure timely performance.
• Ensure auditing requirements around estimating practices, escrow adherence and other cost expenditures are followed.
• Act as expert witness with legal counsel in condemnation and court actions.
• Approve vouchers for land and land rights expenses.
• Monitor cost, quality, timeliness against annual work plans.
• Review lessons learned and drive process improvements.
• Provide leadership and foster teamwork for customer satisfaction.
• Represent Transmission right-of-way in internal and external forums.
• Support safety processes and Zero Harm culture
