Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is seeking a Civil Engineer – Transmission Line Engineering in New Albany, OH to design and deliver high-impact transmission infrastructure. You will plan and scope projects, evaluate structure types, review geotechnical reports, and design foundations.

Responsibilities include conductor tension and clearance evaluations, developing designs with PLS-CADDS, and supporting scheduling, cost estimating, and execution.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited or equivalent ABET-eligible degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification or progress toward licensure preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in structural, geotechnical, or utility infrastructure design.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and scope transmission line projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Select and evaluate transmission structure types.
• Review geotechnical reports and foundation recommendations.
• Design transmission structure foundations and conductors’ tension, sag, and clearance evaluations.
• Develop transmission line designs using PLS-CADDS.
• Support project scheduling, cost estimating, and execution.
