Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Senior Project/Portfolio Manager to oversee extremely large and complex substation and transmission line projects across the organization. This role directs project/portfolio managers, defines schedules and budgets, and ensures risk and resource alignment to strategic objectives.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in supervisory roles, PMP certification timelines, and deep knowledge of transmission engineering.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience supervising complex technical projects.
• PMP Certification to be obtained within 18 months in the position.
• Advanced knowledge of project management concepts, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Defines workflows, accountabilities, resources, and reporting to maximize project/portfolio effectiveness.
• Directs multi-year transmission project/portfolio workbook plan and manages service resources.
• Maintains relationships with internal/external stakeholders to optimize implementation effectiveness.
• Analyzes project/portfolio implementation and drives improvements.
• Provides strategic and tactical guidance on public and regulatory issues during project implementation.
