Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Lead Engineer - Transmission Lines for our Augusta, ME office on a hybrid schedule. The role leads transmission line design for capital projects, including structure selection, line design, LiDAR data usage, and permitting considerations.

Ideal candidates have 2-5 years in transmission line engineering, a bachelor’s degree, and a PE is preferred. LaBella offers competitive benefits, health, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of engineering experience in transmission line design
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology
• Professional Engineer (PE) license requested

Responsibilities

• Lead overall transmission line design for capital projects
• Review/transmission line plans using PLS-CADD to AVANGRID TM and NESC standards
• Drive routing and strategy to optimize design, reliability and ROW usage
• Conductor selection, structure design, insulation, A/C interference and grounding studies
• Utilize LiDAR data and wetlands/sensitive resource data in routing and design
• Provide detailed estimates and probability modeling
• Lead project planning for transmission line routing and strategy
• Coordinate with teams to ensure compliance and quality
