Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineer for our Fort Worth office. You will lead design projects for electric cooperatives and public utilities, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with clients to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical or Civil Engineering with 5+ years of power design experience, EIT certification, and proficiency in PLS-CADD and the NESC. Occasional travel and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
5+ years of post-education design experience in the power industry.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Experience managing small to mid-size projects.
Experience in substation, transmission, or distribution design for electric cooperatives.
Proficiency in PLS-CADD design software.
Proficiency in the NESC.
Ability to work schedules beyond the typical workweek.
Valid driver's license.
Occasional travel may be required.
Commitment to safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

Lead transmission projects and mentor junior engineers and designers.
Develop project scope, budgets, and schedules.
Chair client meetings and ensure alignment with requirements, scope and schedule.
Address client inquiries and manage expectations across technical areas.
Expand expertise beyond transmission into other design disciplines.
Uphold workplace safety and company policies.
