Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas, is hiring a Full-Time Early Career Electrical Engineer (Transmission Line Design) to join the Fort Worth Overhead Transmission Line Team.

You will contribute to due diligence, design, development, and construction activities for utility-scale projects under supervision. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in engineering, 0–1 year experience, strong writing and communication skills, familiarity with design/build concepts, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with process and concepts for design/build.
• Familiarity with civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site surveys, GIS data, maps, and other sources.
• Perform basic professional civil engineering work related to site conditions and permits.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety considerations.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on engineering issues.
• Generate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and logs.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and site procedures.
• Complete assigned task training and duties as required.
• Adhere to company policies and code of conduct.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
