Actalent is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our Transmission Line Engineering Department. The successful candidate will complete projects for a large utility client with minimal direction, collaborating with in-house and client engineers and technicians.

The Lead Engineer will mentor junior staff and oversee a small department while coordinating with regulatory agencies and contractors. The role requires a PE license and advanced degrees can count toward experience.

Formación

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering (ABET)
• Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering (ABET) will count toward years of experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) Required

Responsabilidades

• Engineering and design activities related to Transmission Line Engineering such as engineering analysis and design, route selection, material acquisition, structural and foundation design, and project and construction management
• Prepare project construction documents such as plan and profile drawings; design drawings; engineering, material, and construction specifications; project schedules and bills of material
• Develop project design alternatives and corresponding cost estimates
• Design new transmission line facilities with voltages ranging between 69 kV and 765 kV
• Utilize PLS-CADD to model transmission line design projects
• Attend contractor bid and construction meetings and assist in ensuring that work activities are performed safely and in accordance with plans and established schedules
• Coordinate effectively with governmental and regulatory agencies and contractors
• Provide leadership to facilitate project completion, to train and mentor other engineers, and to develop measurable work area goals and objectives
• Function as an engineering project lead for transmission projects
• Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities of others within the work group, team, department, or external entities to complete transmission projects
• Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees
• Identify and initiate corrective action when transmission line project objectives are not being met
• Interpret codes and regulations and develop standards for construction projects
• Promote engineering professionalism and standards
• Develop, recommend, and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements that include all scheduling, resources, and information for complex engineering
• Position will require occasional travel for site visits
