Job summary

Marmon Industrial Energy and Infrastructure in East Granby, CT, seeks a Communications Design Engineer to lead high-performance cable product design and qualification across coaxial, twisted-pair, fiber-optic, and hybrid constructions. You will apply electromagnetic and optical theory to design choices and validate through prototyping, testing, and documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor in Electrical/Optical Engineering with at least five years of related experience, and may include

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Optical Engineering or related field.
Minimum five years of cable design, transmission-line/RF propagation, data communications, or fiber-optic product development experience.
Experience designing and qualifying cable products and interpreting specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

Lead new product development and sustaining engineering projects for coaxial, twisted-pair, fiber-optic, power, and hybrid cable constructions.
Apply electromagnetic and optical transmission theory to conductor geometry, dielectrics, shielding, and termination design.
Document design assumptions, risks, tolerances, and acceptance criteria.
Manage projects using Stage-Gate/NPD processes and maintain product data in company systems.
Provide technical training and support for internal teams and customers.
