Job summary

Marmon Industrial Energy & Infrastructure seeks a Principal Design Engineer to lead the design, qualification, and lifecycle support of high‑performance coaxial, fiber‑optic, PoE, SPE, and hybrid cable products. You will turn customer requirements into manufacturable, standards‑compliant solutions while coordinating with Product Management, Manufacturing, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Optical Engineering, or Physics required.
• Minimum of five years of experience in cable design or transmission-line/RF propagation.
• Experience designing and qualifying cable products to industry standards.
• Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, test data, and standards.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, ECRs, Stage-Gate programs, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, qualification, and lifecycle support for high-performance cable products.
• Apply electromagnetic and optical transmission theory to geometry, dielectrics, shielding, and termination.
• Develop and validate designs via calculations, prototypes, tests, and reviews.
• Translate designs into manufacturable processes, with testing criteria and tolerances.
• Support ISO systems and material compliance, including RoHS/REACH/TSCA.
• Manage projects using Stage-Gate/NPD processes and document control.
