Job summary

WeDriveU is seeking a Senior ITS Analyst to lead the technical support for Intelligent Transportation Systems across the Collier County bus operation. This hands-on role focuses on CAD/AVL, onboard units, PTO devices, and customer information channels.

You will troubleshoot, configure, and monitor systems, while coordinating with vendors, IT, and Operations to ensure reliable transit technology. The position requires coordinating service changes, validating GTFS data, and producing dashboards

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, IS, CS, engineering, transportation technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
5+ years supporting enterprise, fleet, transportation, or transit tech with hands-on troubleshooting.
Direct experience with transit CAD/AVL or related bus ITS systems preferred.
Experience with integrated hardware/software environments, vendor systems, cellular communications, device configuration, databases, APIs or data feeds, and production troubleshooting.
Ability to work on/around transit vehicles and support off-hours during outages or upgrades.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary technical administrator for transit ITS applications and onboard technology for fixed-route and paratransit service.
Monitor system health; resolve issues affecting buses, Dispatch, passenger information, or connected transit systems.
Administer CAD/AVL functions for real-time vehicle location, schedule adherence, and fleet management.
Support onboard components and integrations: vehicle logic units, mobile data terminals, GPS/AVL, passenger counters, announcements, signs, and fare interfaces.
Maintain system configuration data: vehicles, routes, stops, runs, operators, announcements, geofences, and user accounts.
Coordinate with Planning to load service changes and validate GTFS, route data, and passenger information before implementation.
Investigate discrepancies in vehicle location, passenger counts, or sign information; determine root causes.
Work with ITS vendors, vehicle manufacturers, Maintenance, IT, and Operations to troubleshoot, test fixes, coordinate upgrades, and document resolutions.
Perform or coordinate system testing after software updates, hardware changes, or vendor releases to ensure production readiness.
Develop dashboards, reports, queries, or data extracts to support Operations, Planning, and National Transit Database reporting.
Maintain technical documentation, inventories, change logs, and user guides; manage user access and security.
