Job summary
Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Senior Controls Design Engineer to lead design of train control algorithms and system functionality for freight locomotives. You will develop, implement, and validate control solutions using MATLAB/Simulink, supporting simulations, validation, testing, and releases.
You will coordinate with a team of controls engineers and help set priorities for field issues, features, and product evolution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a controls focus.
- 8+ years of engineering experience.
- Proficiency with model-based control design using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Responsibilities
- Lead design of train control algorithms and system functionality.
- Develop, implement, and validate control solutions using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Coordinate activities within a controls team and prioritize work.
- Analyze field performance data and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with systems, software, and product teams.
- Provide mentorship through design reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap for train control.
