City of Sioux City seeks a Traffic Engineer to lead a small team and develop projects that improve transportation safety and efficiency. You will oversee traffic signals, signs, and road markings while coordinating with multiple agencies and the public.

The role involves performing traffic studies, long-range planning, and ensuring compliance with MUTCD and Iowa DOT standards. Work hours are standard daytime hours with potential after-hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or closely related field.

Responsabilités

• Lead a team to perform traffic engineering studies, transportation planning, and safety improvements.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, and operation of traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings.
• Evaluate signal timing, operations, and safety to enhance traffic flow and safety.
• Prepare technical reports, budgets, and project recommendations.
• Coordinate with City departments, agencies, consultants, and the public.
