Job summary

City of New York is seeking an Assistant Deputy Borough Engineer in the Brooklyn Borough Engineering Office. Under the DBE and Borough Engineer, you will supervise technical staff, coordinate complex traffic engineering projects, review capital projects, and ensure deliverables meet standards and schedules.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in transportation-related field or engineering with relevant coursework.
• Alternative combinations with sufficient road/traffic study experience are accepted as described in the minimum qualifications.
• Experience in leadership, project management, and coordination across teams is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical staff and supervise workflow in capital projects and traffic studies.
• Review and coordinate capital projects, SIPs, and Mayoral/Agency initiatives.
• Analyze transportation data, review field surveys, and supervise reports and memoranda.
• Mentor staff and foster an inclusive, collaborative work environment.
• Coordinate with planning, engineering, and operations units and external agencies.
