Job summary

Teza Capital Management LLC in Austin, Texas, seeks a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to own the platform supporting traders, quants, and developers. This hands-on, player-coach role leads DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers, provisioning bare-metal trading servers, tuning Linux for low latency, and guiding security and release processes.

Qualifications

• Experience operating trading infrastructure with strict uptime and latency.
• Deep Linux performance tuning: CPU isolation, NUMA, IRQ affinity.
• Experience leading an infrastructure/SRE team while remaining hands-on.
• Building internal platforms: CI/CD, compute, storage, monitoring, tooling.
• Strong Kubernetes and Docker skills; know when to use containers.
• Familiar with ML workflows, GPU scheduling and large datasets.
• Designing hybrid infra across colocation, on-prem, and cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Zero-trust access models, secrets management, vulnerability response.
• Programming in Python or scripting for automation and IaC.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, SSH.
• Structured on-call / incident response with post-mortems.

Responsibilities

• Own trading infrastructure and colocation lifecycle.
• Lead platform for researchers and developers including Slurm/Hadoop/Airflow.
• Define releases, rollback, and IaC pipelines aligned to trading calendar.
• Establish on-call, observability, and blameless post-mortems.
• Hire and develop infrastructure engineers; set priorities.
• Balance on-prem, cloud, and colocation tradeoffs.
